INSTAGRAM NAME

WHERE DO YOU COME FROM?

I grew up in Madisonville, KY. Moved to Bowling Green, KY in 2014 to get my Bachelors degree in health sciences at WKU. Been living in Bowling Green for 4 years now.

WHEN DID YOU START COMPETING AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU?

I did my first show when I was 19 in the teen men’s physique division. This was not long after the division was created. I saw Steve Cook competing and that motivated me to do my first show. I was very small but already lean. I did a 6 week prep on my own, won the teen MP class and was hooked. I ended up doing 3 more shows in 2014. Placing 5th, 2nd and then winning my class at teen nationals in MP. I didn’t switch to classic until 2016.

I really just fell in love with the process of bodybuilding. Specifically I love contest prep. I feel like I always need a goal in front of me to keep improving. And I get very anxious if I don’t feel like I’m making improvements in my physique. My goal since 2014 has been to one day compete against the best in the world on the Olympia stage. I feel like this goal is possible and that’s what motivates me more than anything. I want to be one of the best bodybuilders of my era and I understand this a huge goal, I understand how competitive this sport is. Which motivates me to stay consistent. The only way you reach a goal like that is staying on top of the work that needs to be done every single day. Fortunately my personality craves structure and I love doing the same thing everyday.

THE NUMBER OF SHOWS:

I’ve competed in 12 shows.

WHAT WAS YOUR BEST PLACING AND WHERE WAS IT?

NPC nationals 2017 I got 4th place in Classic Physique class a. Just recently got 7th at 2018 NPC nationals.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE ATHLETE?

Breon Ansley

I didn’t have a good understanding of nutrition when I first started in 2014-2015. I would go back and teach myself what I know now and also would have done less flexible dieting and add more structure to my diet. My best results have come from consuming large amounts of quality food. Flexible dieting made it easier to live a college lifestyle and make progress. It wasn’t until I was on a strict meal plan that I started to see the changes in my physique that I really wanted. I would also tell myself to hire a coach prior to 2017. I feel like if I would have had Ariel Alberto’s guidance from the beginning I would have done better early on. But you live and you learn. Very fortunate to have such a great coach.
